Since inception, The Westchester Community Foundation has operated as an affiliate of The New York Community Trust.
As part of our centennial celebrations, we are creating a single, unified organization to more powerfully advocate for our region with one voice.
We will still maintain our physical offices in Westchester with the same dedicated staff who will continue to honor and build upon our relationships with local nonprofits and communities.

On October 13, 2022, Community Voices Heard awarded the Foundation with its Shirley Chisholm Lights of Freedom award. In presenting the award, CVH Executive Director Juanita O. Lewis remarked that the Westchester Community Foundation understands and supports community organizing. The Foundation’s ongoing support has helped CVH expand beyond Yonkers into smaller communities such as Ossining and to build a countywide strategy to address housing affordability and security.
