Despite Westchester's reputation as a wealthy suburb with excellent health care systems, health disparities still exist between communities. Many residents struggle with mental illness and substance abuse. We're helping our community get access to patient-centered, cost-effective healthcare so they can stay healthy in body and mind.

Better Access to Care

  • Expand prenatal care and continuum of care for mothers and babies through screenings, early intervention to address postpartum depression, and referrals for those in need
  • Strengthen the health safety net for the uninsured
  • Transition health care from a fee-for-service model to the new managed care system
  • Provide mental health first aid training for educators
  • Support programs that connect young people experiencing depression and anxiety with treatment
  • Address depression and suicide in the immigrant population
